ah a classic, had one with fast road cam and superchip, went like stink, loved chucking it round the country lanes, engine would redline in no time, much fun :D

that looks in pretty good nick

Cool man, I had a 309GTI 1.9 when I had my Zed.. great fun. Mad as a French left-tennants teapot mind ;)

LOL :D

So much fun in such a little wrapper!

Can't stop grinning :D

It redlines like a beast due to the 1.6 box in it, it tops out at just over a ton but who cares ;)

Throwing it round corners playing with the throttle, redlining through the gears :D

No wonder they are called pocket rockets!

Even had some wide boys try it on from the lights in a 206, they got spanked so hard I couldn't stop laughing for ages.

The passed me when I was stuck at a 100 though (private road) ;)

Need another excuse to go out in the car now.

And the best thing is, did 50miles caning the tits off it and I used about £7 of petrol.

Pleasure without the pain. :D:D:D

i have a soft spot 4 these, thats the double of the one i had. It was the first car i actualy loved. lift off oversteer was immense, very predictable, im jel lol

LOL :D

I remember Lift of oversteer from my Saxos, but they were more refined and more smoothed out than this.

The end grip is prolly the same as Saxos, but as this is more responsive and revvy it makes cornering far more interesting ;)

Not a car you get bored when driving ;)

I know this is an old thread (too much time to waste at work) so ignore it if you wish.

I've never been any kind of authority on Pugs but I remember Gavo's and another mate's and I'm almost sure the stock ride height was lower than that and the back-box had astraight out larger bore pipe... Don't get me wrong I'm not having a dig at your car mate, (Top-gear predicted them as a future classic) but it might be worth checking out for peace of mind. Especialy on those roundabouts!!!:D :p :D

Eric - how come it's got a 1.6 box in it when it's got 1.9 written on the side?

I've always thought those GTi pugs were wicked. FAR too much power but a great chassis and really good design. Still looks fly 15 years on. Nice and safe as a front driver too - does she understeer much?

Russ.
