Bloody brilliant, makes an auto box really sing, fitted it 5 mins after it coming(cheers Chris;) had forgotten just what a difference it makes, the Z realy flies, holds gears and revs longer/better,well worth doing on any auto Z:D :)

Nice one Tony;)

However have a drive of the SE fast road rebuild, and you will forever piss yourself laughing at manual driving SUCKERS!:D:D;)

Tony, ive heard you praise the ALC before but i dont fully know what it does, it seems like a v cheap mod for such a great gain, and if it only takes 5 mins you wont mind helping me fit one to mine!!!!

Bring your spanners mate!!!;)

Yeah, great mod, certainly makes an autobox behave more like a proper manual box ! ;)

Mac,if ever this box goes west its defo on my list for the SE fast road box,the box on mine was uprated last summer, but to what degree not sure, will have to ask Nukem, but its certainly capable.

b19rks,you got one to fit then!,you going to the Stenson sunday,:D

Yes Andy its great, one advantage over a manual is that there is no lag when going through gears, just instant ,would think that this would be an advantage say on 1/4 mile runs,or longer:D :)

No problem Tony ;)

They are dead easy to fit in 5 mins so I don't know why more people don't have 'em.

Lift the passenger floor panel and plug in a couple of cables and thats it!

where is the cheapest place to get an alc ??and how much?

richard

OK. Stupid quetion time. What is ALC????

The ALC stands for Automatic Line Convertor - basically it fiddles with the signals that go to & from the auto gearbox ECU in order to hold the line pressures (the oil pressure that makes it change gear) higher than they normally would under certain conditions (I believe only at WOT, but I could be wrong), in order to make the gearchanges quicker and more positive..

I know it's now been updated to the ALC II but I'm not sure what the difference is.

Make sure you get the Z32 harness to connect it all in.

All you have to do is plug the ALC between the cable that goes to the auto box controller and the controller itself.

Literally a 5 minute job for a great improvement.

I'm confused (nothing new there then). It sounds like everyone who's got one thinks they're great, but how does it make the box feel better... I don't mean how does it work - what's it doing to your ride? I've had SE's fast-road rebuild so is an ALC pointless?

One point to remember - this will kill your autobox quicker ;) Everything has its pro's and cons though - the quicker you kill the auto box, the quicker you can get the manual conversion done :D:D:D

I'm sure we all know that more mods = more chance of car going pop :D
