Following on from a few others that have noticed that this forum is turning to shite due to the level of hostility and/or boredom, I am a firm believer in reporting in positive results from work done on my Z if it can benefit others.
Mine failed it MOT last week so booked it in to Zedworld for today. I turned up, Jeff worked his usual magic and saved me over a £100 in parts.
The bit that I want to let you guys know about is the fact that I had a loose N/S rear wheel bearing. Jeff gave it a good turning and hey presto, no play. However, here is the best bit - 75% OF MY BRAKE JUDDER HAS GONE. I've not noticed anyone mention this as a remedy for this problem in the past. That's not to say that no one has posted that piece of advice, it could just be that I was not paying attention.
Therefore, I am going to arrange some time to make sure that the other 3 corners are tightened up. The MOT guy didn't notice any play on the other corners but if it helps, then I don't see the harm in trying. In fact, Jeff was suprised how loose the bearing was, but unfortunately, I did not have time for him to check the other sides.
Anyway, ended the visit with a ConZult check and some more free adjustments which brought TPS back in to check and now the car seems to tick over better. (Very impressed with the conZult by the way).
So there, maybe something else for all you people with brake judder to try if you have run out of ideas.
Was very suprized that the a loose REAR bearing would cause that much judder at the wheel! Food for thought I guess!
