OK I am getting the point now.

We can't say what we want on this board as we face legal implications if we scare the owner(s) of this site.

But it's OK for information known only to Administrators/Moderators to be banded about to normal members.

Now I am laughing about this as it's to do with the thread that Macca the Hacker put up about what wheels he should fit on his car.

Now although I posted on the thread that he could have my spare wheel (space saver) for a laugh he has also managed to find out that I voted for him to put space savers back on, I also used Mrs T's login aswell seeing as I paid for both accounts. LMFAO :D

So OK it's funny that someone has grassed and told him probably because he threatened them. :D

But in future I think that this sort of thing is a bit naughty naughty. I also believe that Admin can read your PM's so be careful if you want to send something sensitive whether it be personal or whatever to another member.

So I basically say that as long as the people in the know and the power to release info like that keep abusing the responsibility I don't see why we should abide by the rules and shut up everytime we are told to because the owners are worried that they are going to cop for it. Savi?

;)

If the voting was not hidden I would have still voted for the spare wheels :D :D.

It's a forum default, dunno why but I expect that the people who wrote it didn't want to be tarred with the Microsoft brush !

My mind is starting to be made up, unless there are significant dissenters then voting will become 'open'. Speak up now if you care.

I agree, whats the big deal with people knowing who voted for what? it's a forum not the general election FFS!

What's the big deal about us knowing what people have voted on?

If the vote function were not available and people were to just post, we would know anyway. I can't believe that people would want to hide behind an anonumous vote.

It depends what the poll's about.

If it's "Which wheels do you like best?" then it doesn't matter and would probably help if everyone knew who'd voted for what.

If it's "Which of these 3 people do you think should be the new mod?" then you either make it anonymous, or you'll get a lot of people who won't want to vote.

I don't think you can open up the results of previous polls now. If people voted on the basis of them being anonymous, then they should stay anonymous.

If you do open them up and cause WW3 because of some inflammatory poll that's been forgotten about, then on your own head be it! ;) :D

Actually, that's not a bad point. There's nothing wrong with open "everyday" polls. But any "policy" or organisational polls - particularly if they involve people, should be private. Maybe forum polls as they are, are not exactly the right way to do this?

On the other hand, you'll get a lot more people voting on "Organisational / Policy" polls if they CAN remain anonymous.

Many people have an opinion on stuff but can't be bothered / don't want to stand up and say "I think this". Or maybe they don't want to have to explain themselves to people.

Is there an echo in here? :p

I thought I was agreeing with you :D

Actually it may be a moot point, because I can't find the option in this forum s/w ......

Can I just add at this point that if you're going to turn off that feature that I also voted for Nico to get his haircut before he came back. LMFAO :D Oh and so did Mrs T! :D

Yea I don't have a problem with that,I put the option there for a laugh! Polls like Nelson did last year about Warren should be nuked IMHO!
