JUST THOUGHT ID LET EVERY ONE KNOW... BOUGHT MY ZED TT ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FROM JAPAN WITH 38,000 MILES ON IT, FIRST JOB WAS OIL CHANGE, CASTROL 0w/40 RS. THE DAY AFTER NOTICED MY OIL PRESSURE WAS DROPING OFF AND AT IDLE VERY LOW, I PUT IT DOWN TO DODGY OIL SENDER AND THAT WAS THAT.

READING A COUPLE OF LINKS ON TUESDAY I NOTICED THAT ALOT OF YOU USE CASTROL RS 10/60, SO I ORDERED SOME, PUT IT TODAY AND 200 MILES LATER......... MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS ROCK STEADY AND WORKING EXACTLY HOW ITS SUPPOSE TO, THE CAR ALSO FEELS ALOT STRONGER WHEN PULLING.

JUST THOUGHT I'D SHARE THAT ONE WITH YOU ALL, ANY COMMENTS MOST WELCOME.......

0/40W is far too thin and only really does it's job in very cold climates.

10/60 is the way to go (fully synth )

So the Nissan handbook is wrong - It says 10W30, 10W40 and 10W50 for this climate.

Isnt 0W40 just the same as any 40 weight when warm but thinner when stone cold just when you really need thin?

I might be persuaded to try 10W60 its just that it runs fine with 0W40 full synthetic even though high mileage

I wonder how much bhp a 60W costs against a 40W?:D

i believe the latter figure is the temp range that the oil is consistant at, so with 2 tubs your running high temps so that grade is much better, 10 60 synth was un heard of back when the zed was born, its designed for high performance cars that run hot, i couldnt get any so got 15/50 mobile 1

I dont even think full synth oil was around when the Z was made.

No, but neither was the dyson, and most people have them now ;) or something like that

hehehe
