I got my Z back yesterday after 7 weeks at the bodyshop, I don't how you guys that are off the road for months go on, it pissed me off big style.

I've had a complete respray from white to mystic blue, looks the dogs gonads.

I've had a new rear wing from the Z centre, new brakes, water pump, cam belt, new ice, etc etc.

I will get some pictures done and post them if the offer to host is still open AndyP?

I have noticed a couple of things I wasn't aware of before;

1. First gear seems difficult to select but only when the car has been running for about 20mins, any ideas?

2. I getting a vibration through the steering wheel between 50-60 mph but then it tails off, suggestions?

cheers

send some pics, how much did that cost you to respray. the wheel vibration sounds like wheel balencing, the grear thing could just need an oil change.

good luck man, i want to respray my car canery yello.

John,

Offer is still open, plus there are probably a couple of other places you can dump stuff but I can't remember where right now.

Gear selection problem may be helped by an oil change, could also be the clutch needs some adjustment, perhaps bleeding.

Glad your car is sorted,

I am away from home for a couple of weeks and have no Zed. This is plenty long enough without my car I'll tell ya frown.gif

First Gear is supposed to be difficultish to engage, apparently Nissan wanted it that way. When I say difficultish I mean sort of not-actually-selecting-first-instead-of-third type difficultish not having to force it into 1st tho...

300TT manual boxes are queer old things I reckon, tho I'd rather crunch away all day long just for the privilage of changing gear when I want and not when the car does ;-)

Is your box ok other than that? 4th is usually the bugger.. aparently Nissan put all their efforts into making 2nd and 3rd strong and didn't bother with poor old 4th and 5th. I feel sorry for 4th and 5th I bet they feel a little left out.

Hi John,

Cool mate, can't wait to see the pics of your new, resprayed motor.

As Andy said, you can dump images elsewhere, z32.org is the best place...they've got an "uploader" on the intro. page. Easy to use!

The full respray cost me £3500 which is expensive I know, but it was a full bare metal, full body strip, they had something like 90hrs just on prep of the gouda like body work,it also included new rubbers and waxoyl as well so not that bad really for a colour change(you all know what the engine bay looks like)

Is the gear box oil change a big job?

I won't be doing it myself,I'll stick to cooking!

I tried hosting pictures last time on Z32.org but kept going FUBAR, computers and cars are not my strong points!

Cheers for the relpies

Yes Glen rest of the box is fine had a new clutch 12 months ago, it just seems very stiff but it goes eventually.
