Hi guys sorry about delay but I have looked into in car camera / video gear and having looked at some very expensive stuff eventually looked at budget gear and found the actual result quite similar. The links below are example pics only to give you all an idea but the actual equipment I have priced is slightly different in appearance but the same technically.

Basically a permanantinstallation would follow the usual video in boot ( 12 v power supply required) a loose lead for quick connection to a monitor or portable tv. (for viewing recordings and setting camera up) and the actual camera secured to the passenger sun blind fixing.

It may be preferred though to install temporary in the passenger footwell depends on your own intentions. The position of camera can be altered on the bracket whilst in car (and taping) to ensure good coverage but a view able screen may be required and the cost starts escalating then.

The two camera links show one board camera and a similar one in a housing and bracket the price is for the latter.

All the prices are trade and with no mark up by myself so if any one interested I can steer you to my supplier and proccess it on a manual purchase order from my company so you can get Trade. If any more info wanted will be happy to supply it.

Nice one Jeff....ok, is it possible to get 2 cameras to link up to the one VCR...(and record in split screen) or is that in the higher budget stuff only?

Also...what's the price of the screen?

Regardless of the answer to these two questions.... I want to get the VCR unit and the colour camera.

man i have been surching for this type of thing.

i have a digital camera that i use in the car but fitting is quite a problem. do you know if i can connect one of those to my digital camera

No a bad price really.

Do you know what outputs the camera has, just composite video?

And what inputs the video has, scartt and/or just composite. Do you know what the line control is for? Auto stop/start?. I ask as most home videos can be wired to a trigger device to start recording, for instance the car ignition.

And the size of the units? Any idea?

Don't ask many questions do I?

Cheers,

Jez.

Just a quick thougt - I may be able to beat that video price - I'll even check on camera prices. I'll post something tomorrow to let you guys know.

Main thing is thanx for the info Jeff - something needs to be done and we could be halfway there smile.gif
