Who says zeds arent reliable? Been down and up the country in 2 days (130K+ on mine.) Had to install some kit at Readings new sewage treatment works. Never seen such a large sewage treatment works! 26mpg even using a bit of boost now and then and didnt see another Z except mine's reflection in shop windows - as you do! Cruise control works at 100 too - scary!

Also what are these yellow camera thingys with the red lenses facing you oncoming. Saw em near Peterborough. They dont make my detector beep? Hope they are off!

Also all those single ones on poles near Lancaster about every couple of hundred yards.

hi willie,

if they are the red eyes south of peterborough on the A1 they dont set off any radar detector because they have road sensors which activate them.

yes they are active

they are red eye so photo the front of you and they are mounted in the centre of the road so they occasionally change direction.

~~~~~> hope they didnt get you
regards,
alex
Saw a good speeding tip on that Des & Mel programme, when they had Jim Davidson on it;
What you do is keep all yout local newspapers, then if you get an N.I.P (notice of intended prosecution). Simply look in the paper in the obituary column and pick a person who died between the date you were caught and date you got the N.I.P then name them as the driver!!!
I see no reason why this shouldnt work!!
No but am sure they will throw the book at you when they find out:D
Be worse if no one had died that week.......then you'd have to go out and kill someone!!!
Thing is they can't prove they didn't. Unless they went to the trouble to trace a dead persons movements for the last few days of their life. Too much time just for a fine.
About these speed cameras that use road sensors. Are they the weight sensors which are used for traffic lights and such?
Stuart
Hi Stuart,
as far as i am aware they are not weight but induction coils which work on magnetism. The can detect the axle for a vehicle when they go over them - same for traffic lights i believe.
They just put one on the Bray / Windsor road - if it's the same as yours, it's one of these: a Truvelo:
The detectors are piezo and the camera uses infra red film so you don't see a flash. Cunning b'stards.
And may I just point out that Truvelo comes from the same lovely liberal country that brings us the lovely liberal 300z - Zuid Afrika! :D
Cheers - Gio
Hi Gio, do you think they sent him in first to spy and see if it was worth their time putting them in this country?, you never know these days, so many assylum seekers around:D :D :D.
Or could it be that they are putting them in to keep an eye on him, just keeping track off him just incase they should ever need him:D :D :D.
Hugs and kisses
Wendy
If they can't retrieve the fine, they simply take it from the registered owner of the vehicle - try it and you'll be more likely to be going down for fraud, impersonation etc etc etc...
Just take the points and the fine...
Fuel cost was about £133. Litres 176 tank to tank. miles 959. So just under 25mpg overall. Was over 26 on the first leg but I guess my foot got heavier on the way home. I read that the new mini cooper is worse than that - helps me to justify the zeds otherwise heavy thirst running around town. I know which one I'd rather drive
Just hope those red eye things didnt get me.
