Clutch suprises...

Now, a bit of background - since my Zed arrived a few months ago, it's always had a tinkling noise when the clutch has been pressed. Several people said it was the release bearing gone and advised a new clutch was in order :(

 

So off I go, ordered a RPS clutch from Smithy, and dropped the Zed off with MJP yesterday....

 

Just had a call from Mike, and it turns out that having taken the gearbox apart, his mechanic has discovered a HKS twin plate clutch with flywheel !! :eek: :eek: :D

 

Mike says the tinkling sound is a trait of these clutches, and having never driven another Zed didn't realise how on/off my clutch actually was - just thought it was me getting used to it after coming from a 1.4 pug :)

 

Had to share that... and thankfully they're sorting out my centre bearing so all that labour isn't wasted.

    I paid 345 quid for it from Smithy a few weeks ago so I'll be looking for offers very near that but I willl pay for delivery. :)

    No didn't happen to me, but sure it has to someone.

     

    Although not quite as spectacular/demoralising someone on SXOC found pics of his car all smashed up in the boot after he bought it LOL.
