OK lads, don't dis me for this one, you lot have had Zeds longer than me smile.gif

I need to take my car to the limit, I need to know the limits of my car and myself as a driver - I do not wish to try this on the public highway, death to innocent third-party drivers is not my idea of fun.

So where can I learn more?, I pride myself on my excellent driving ability, but after flooring it up the A1 earlier today I am getting and idea of what this car is capable of.

Not sure I want to embarress myself at a Track Day soooo... are there skid pans etc I can go on??

Don't judge me too harshly on this, just want to know the max without killing anyone smile.gif

Senna,

Find out where the next cruise is on the IOW,

judge for yourself if its a bit corny for a super car! Either go with it and blister next doors car park, or go to Black Gang Chine car park in the rain.

Have safe fun.

harve.

Hi Glen,

Hope your enjoying the new beast - looks like it from the sounds of things.... biggrin.gif

Anyway, your best bet is to give a circuit a call. They do track days which are (effectively) high performance driving schools. You get a certain amount of time on track, interrupted by drivers briefings and instructor sessions. I know for a fact that Donington has this service!!!

I have enquired about this sort of thing before with the same intentions as your good self..... If anyone is interested in having a day at donington give me a shout cos we can get discounts for numbers smile.gif

CheerZ,

Glen.

I have had my Z for a few months and on the first day, not knowing how fast the car is. I was on a dual carrage way and I floored it at some traffic lights and within a few seconds I was doing 100mph in 3rd gear with some left. As soon as I saw I eased off and slowed back own. You have to get used to it. Be careful.

Stuart

You may find the the local plod have a skidpan training day. I know they do in Essex, other than that it's the drag strips at SantaPod (this weekend with the Zed Club UK, or whatever they're called) or North Weald.

Hehe Thanks Guyz

Harve, the Blackgang car park is falling into the sea LOL hehe

I think I will try the local plod skid pan training smile.gif

If anyone is going to a track day and would like to show me the ropes I would love to give it a spin ;-)

I know what you are saying tho Stu, I slowed down for a roundabout on the A1, just was ambling around the roundabout in 2nd at 40mph, then floored it ( the first time I have really been out in the car on my own since buying it - usually got the woman and sproglets onboard) - and .. well feck me, I was shocked, it was a completely new concept.. 100mph and not even troubling 3rd gear!!!

And yeah smile.gif - I am so enjoying this car, but y'know what I enjoy most? .. just cruising real slow with the aircon on and the windows up - its great cruising in a Z, coz you just *know* your car is quicker than everything else on the road smile.gif smile.gif - and everyone looks at the car...

This is the end of my customary late night waffle, sorry if I babble on.. but NOTHING* makes me feel quite as good as my Zed!

Peace and lots of boost..

Glen.

*women not included in this statement smile.gif

The skid pan i've seen in Essex is Southend east side roundabout.NUTTERS. The lot of UM.

Next time i'll take the camcorder -- unbelievable.

Didn't know cars could do that, mind you they probably arn't theres!

2 lines from songs come to mind with the Z

No 1.

Will Smith Summer Time. I always have it blerting out when it is sunny.

"Leaning out the side, but you cant speed through, 2 miles an hour so everybody sees you"

No 2.

War Low Ride Rider (The Marmite Tune)

Low Rider drives a little slower

I rest my case

Or do what I did to a Porche 911 last week. Revving at me at some lights on the East Lancs. Lights went to green. I got a flying start, floored it to 70mph, the speed limit on the road, by which time I was 3 car lenghts infront, and then laugh at him as he screams past you at 100.

Stuart

Hehe Stu .. did that to a Pulsar GTI-r, proved that my zed could out-do him even if it was running safety boost, backed off at 90ish and watched him disappear into the distance@130mph. Hmmm that stretch of M-way was awfully camera'd up..

Nice

Glen

Glen, your personality is changing mate...LOL! Did you see the film "Moving" with Richard Prior??? You're turning into the guy that offers to drive his Saab accross America to Boysi, Idaho! LMAO!

Next you'll be dressing like a Tranny and secretly sneaking out at 4am to drive her!!!

Just jealous mate, that's what I'd be doing anyway if I had mine back...ARSE, ARSE, ARSE, ARSE, ARSE!!! Come on mortgage people, I need to move into my new house with 4 acres and large garage for me Z. Then I can really pressure SE!*!&!^&!*!!&!&*!*(!

Just like to say mate - You have the Worst Taste in Music ever . wink.gif

And Timmy - remind me not to go to the movies with you any time soon either wink.gif

Try www.easytrack.co.uk, I have booked a track day at the Goodwood track, which includes personla tuition, which you have to go for if you have never been on the track before.

The total cost is about £118 for the full day. The safest place to go for pedal to metal action.

ps:- This is the same track Top Gear used for the Maclaren F1 test.

There is nothing wrong with my taste in music. Just becuase it is tacky and very dated and not to everyones tates. biggrin.gif

Stuart

...and Lyles...ROFLMAO!!!!!!!
