What a day!

 

With Zedworld, racing, speeding and everything else I forgot I was offered the job I went to three interviews for :D

I should be getting a proper job offer on Friday :D

 

No more contracting for me! :D:D

 

 

It was a very eventful day.

Including babysitting a fellow Zedder back from Zedworld after he blew an oil seal and lost a cylinder.

I followed him all the way back and his lovely Zed was being a bit poorly and I couldn't see (or breathe) for oil smoke :eek:

 

Still made some good photos ;)

 

I'll try to get him on here to join all us lovely lot ;)

It's been tough for us IT bods of late, as many on here would bear witness too ... I had one of the company's preferred recruitment consultants in the other day, and she reckoned that things were getting much better on the Permie front, but contracting was still in the doldrums, so you're probably making the right move:D

 

Just think all that new dosh to spend on the Z - whey-hey!:D

I was out of work for a few months around xmas, although I was working freelance demanding anything up to £50 per hour! But, that soon dried out and now I work for Travis Perkins. Money isnt the best in the world but the work on the side doubles my salary.......:D

 

Hence I can afford over £5,000's +worth of Zed bills after driving only 700miles in it after 3 months!!!

I'm working for a company called Spandex (don't laugh ;) )

They have a really good atmosphere and lots of social events.

I also love the way the company deals with customers like they are humans :)

Oh and I start on Monday at 8.45am :D

It's going to be nice to be gainfully employed again.

 

Also because of the two blondes that work in the office ;)

When I went for my second interview they went to lunch and when they walked past me my jaw hit the floor! They were stunning ;)

 

When I left they were having their lunch about 10' away from my Zed.

I couldn't believe it when I saw them staring at me when I started it and pulled out of the car park.

They like my Zed.... RESULT! ;)

Shame it's got a sticking up nose panel and runs like shit now, but when it's all sorted and running properly I'll take them out for a spin....

Whats wrong with it at the moment?

 

I know what its like for it to not be running properly trust me!

 

I will HOPEFULLY be getting mine back next friday just in time for the Japfest.

 

Option Motorsport at Silverstone have it at present and are fitting a new rad, boost gauge and two new stage 2 turbos. Costing nearly £3000! BIG BUCKS!!!!:(

Where do I start with mine? ;)

Mines just underpowered, I can't even spin the rear wheels under full thottle pulling away.

It's much better now since Jeff @ Zedworld got it running out of safety boost, but it's still running underpowered, it goes alright when it kicksdown at higher speeds, then it launches it self like a rocket on boost.

Sometimes it's as flat as a pancake though especially from lower revs and I think I have a boost leak, sometimes under power you can hear a loud sucking noise from the passenger side of the engine.

 

It's more a smooth build up of power than a supercar :(

Even when it's running OK, I can't help feeling it's well underpowered.

My mate with a stage3 auto drove it yesterday and said, it's very smooth whereas his is pretty violent under power, he said even when his was standard it felt more like a turboed sports car and less like a large engined cruiser like mine.

 

Also the idle is rougher than a crack whore in a caravan, when cold there is no power at all, then suddenly the boost kicks in and the car launches foward so you let off the throttle and you're back to square 1 again.

 

I have changed the air filters...(Grrrr...Still get the nose panel back in place :mad: )

And I have cleaned the MAS and TPS, but it idles even worse than before if anything, it makes the car pretty unenjoyable to drive :(

 

Still, I need to get the £90 saved to go to Zedworld and get the plugs changed cos I'm sure that's not helping.

After it's had a service if it's still not running right then we can look at more serious things...

 

 

 

All I want is a car that runs like it should, it's annoying me that I'm guzzling fuel and not getting much power/enjoyment out of it.

 

I can't wait to get it all sorted then start tunning the tits of it! :D

Eric - you'll probably find your mpg will be better once you get your porblems sorted....

Like the previous guy said, the MPG should be better when you get it running properly!

 

I have the same problem with my XR2 at the moment!

 

Guzzles fuel, 180miles to £34 and its the lean type carb, I have had it tuned but it doesnt go right and the ford guy I know cant figure out what it is!!!! Does my head in!!!

 

Thing is, diagnosis on the Zed is a much more expensive tale comparted to a shitty runabout XR2!

 

Still, I have a stalling problem on my Zed, when its cold, sometimes it just wont idle, but when its warm its fine, and then it'll only do it sometimes!!!!! Bugger I know!!!!:rolleyes:
