Pulled up alongside a Lotus Elise ( newish model ) at a set of traffic lights.

He was looking over and was reving up a lot, so I thought OK then , what the f*ck!

Lights changed to green and we both floored it.

I was then a bonnets length ahead which then became a car lenghth before we reached 60!!

He then followed me ( single carrageway ) to the next set of lights, where he turned right and gave me the thumbs up.

At least he enjoyed our burnup and had the decency to acknowledge our little race!:D :D

They are only 1.8 lite.

 

But like most cars the spec you see are usually not what you get. The Z32 is meant to be 5.2 0-60 but its more like 5.4-5.6 for the 2+2 anyways. The Lotus spec says 4.9 so really means 5.5 LOL

 

Good job it ended at 60. Over that you would past him.

I did pass him, as I said I was a cars length clear when we reached 60. But as you say if it had gone on any longer then he would have been just a dot in my rear view mirror!!:eek: :eek:

Tony,the last Elise I raced I made him look like a milk float:D,they have no guts above 60mph;)

You would do in your Z , Macca!!!:D

But mine is pretty stock apart from induction and exhaust, so I was well chuffed to have creamed him!!:D :D ;)

My mate used to have a 160 Elise and it kinda ran out of puff after 60 or so but it handled like a go-kart.

 

But anyone heard about the NEW Elise????
