I was on my way to collect my 300 yesterday from having its new gearbox fitted, when my mates 200 spun on some handy diesel and launched us into the central reservation, to impact on some handily placed armco, leaving us facing the wrong way on the central reservation of a dual carriageway.

The armco was f**ked, having been ripped off its supports and forced about 5' towards the other side or the carriageway. I have to say it did its job though, and stopped us crashing into oncoming traffic on the other side of the road.

Mates 200 had both front tyres ripped off the wheels, passenger side wing is f**ked, passenger side front track rod snapped, wheel arch ripped out, exhaust twisted, front spoiler cracked in half, and the door dented. Apart from that its f**ked.

Still look on the bright side, another 10' and we'd of hit a lamppost, and then I probably would'nt be posting this.

It was'nt even fast - about 45mph tops. The arse slid out to the right on the diesel, matey chucked on a load of opposite lock, it got grip again and span 180 in the opposite direction, so it was my side that impacted the armco:rolleyes: ........

That's not good !!!.

Well hope you are both ok, I guess the 200 is a write off ?

I got it recovered to the garage I was picking mine up from....

They're going to have a look at it over the weekend and let us know if its salvagable

I did that in my Westfield a couple of years back. I'd had it two days and parked it into a "no waiting" sign.

Glad you're ok though. At least it wasn't the Zed on the way back!

Not much chance of that - I did about 15mph all the way home;)

Thats the problem sometimes because we can never really have any experience a situations like this before its too late, we tend to over compensate and when grip comes back, the car gets flung the other way very violently.

This happened to me when I had a low rear tyre. The back end came out, I put opposite lock on which make it kick out the other way even more so. Lucky I was only doing 25mph (ish) and I managed to hold it. Things would have been different if it happen at 45.

Least you are both OK though.
