Dear Friend,

My regards, l am Gumsu Abacha , the daughter of

late Nigeria head of state general Sani Abacha, l got

your contact through a family friend whom l met during

christmas and new year holidays and he gave me your

contact when l was searching for a foreigner that

can help me invest my family fund in abroad hence the

government of my country has insisted in probing my

family's financial resources since the death of my

father, and has also gazetted all our properties.

recently the government had also seized all the known

family's fund in abroad with the assistance of the

British government.

lt is only this money US$ 28.000.000.00 (twenty-eight

million dollars) that was deposited in a security

company vault at Lome Republic of Togo that has not

been seized because the fund was deposited as an

African art gallery.the family intend to use this

money for investment purpose to enable the family

start life all over again.

This decesion is taking between me and my mother.

If this proposal is accepted to you, after getting the

money out of the security company vault to your

country, my family has agreed to offer you 30%of the

total sum for your kind assistance you rendered to us.

And in addition you bank the family's own part of the

funds and assist us in investing(with my approval on a

project) as a front for us until the situation

becomes more favourable for us to visit your country

and discuss the way forward.

Please kindly state yourearly response immediately

you rceive this message through this email address or

kaboabacha@hotmail.com,for more details on the

logistics and modalities.

Thanks and accept my regards.

Gumsu Abacha.

I've had mail through the post at work wuth a similar scam. Usually they claim to be from the South African govt and offer you 25-30% of some huge sum of money in return for "investing" it for them:rolleyes:

I wish... the things I could do to my z with 7 million quid:p

Read it, laugh at it and bin it. I get about two per week either through the post or via fax at work. There was a thread on here a while ago with a link to a site where someone had posted all the correspondence between them and the con-man in Africa. He really managed to wind the guy up for ages!

At least these are a laugh, the ones that really piss me off are the mobile text spams that always seem to arrive on my phone in the early hours of the bloody morning!

LOL anyone who falls for that desearves what they get lmao.

Go-on Jeff, send him your bank account details - then parcel him up and send him to 10 other e-mail addresses!

No but seriously though x-biker is right.

If you want to do something about it then you can report it here

http://www.met.police.uk/fraudalert/419.htm or even to the Nigerian Police http://www.nigeriapolice.org/419.html

Old BBC story here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1431761.stm

I did hear of a bloke that setup a fake htmail address and strung the scammers along for a while but can't find the site where I found the story.

Cheers - Gio
