It's that simple. Many wars should never come about between civilised nations (jaw,jaw is better than war,war), but facing a psychopathic dictator is another story.

If nobody had done this, we'd still be killing animals with spears. Freedoms' have to be fought for. This idea of total non-violence is too simplistic. Ghandi only achieved what he did because he was in a position of power. If he had tried it earlier in history he would have been laughed at and killed.

 

To achieve peace, you have to conquer minds. When you cannot conquer minds, you may have to fight. Turning the other cheek to evil oppression is an evil in itself. Sure this war is not purely for humanitarianism, but I think it is/was necessary.

Again if your in a posistion to feel so strongly against the country you live in, why not move away from it and go live under a dictatorship and see how it is (not being sarci serious question)

 

I somehow think youll find this system the better of the two. Free democracy is the most succesfull economic system in the world, of course being paranoid and living within the system isint lol
