Not normal at all, thats what happens when you put your car on bollox useless dyno runs, as they dont have the airflow that would be provided by actually driving down the road. Even the big fans they use are generally useless too. dyno = pointless ;)

i cant see how any amount of airflow is going to cool that down enough so it isnt glowing:confused:

clarkey - like the p***ed off weetabix. as for the manifold glowing, i can do that in my polo 1.3, as long as i have a brick on the gas and a 1000 shot of NOS running ;)

The manifold on my Cerbera would glow when you revved it standing still.

I had an RAC man come out once when one of the fans wasn't coming on... he just went "cooooooll... the manifold's glowing - that's awesome..i've never seen that...."

It did not fill me with confidence that he was the answer to my prayers.....

OK clarkey, Ill bow to your superior dyno knowledge. :P

The fact that I didnt catch sight of ANY fan, (let alone the useless things that dyno places use) could pose one reason for a glowing manifold. But Im almost sure that the manifold wouldnt glow like that under regular use.

Maybe do a test and mount a small camera under the bonnet of yours and your friends cars clarkey and see if the manifolds glow??? As your will have a wide 'test bed'

regards

Manifolds do glow like that. Esp stainless ones, they go almost transparent, very cool (hot LOL) :)

At the speed that the car *would* be doing were it on the road?? how do you know? have you seen it? :)

fair enough then! I apologise!

dyno sux

no I havne't but do you really honestly think the air flow through there is going to cool the manifold with ridiculous amounts of high speed 1000 deg C gasses going through it ?

Ask abbey motorsport perhaps, whose RR emulates 140mph head wind...

I didnt say it *would cool* the manifold. I said that *wasnt normal*, and it wouldnt glow *like that* under normal operating conditions.

I even agreed and apologised.

Conditionally, but thanks anyway. :)
