It was already using loads of water somewhere and had a bad oil leak which might be why the big end bearings have gone although I've always checked the oil level regularly and topped it up.

I just want to find a write off with good engine and manual box so I can do a complete transplant. Will also allow me to replace a few tatty bits of trim.

I got the rear chrome badges from Trax last year on a stall selling loads of Ford bits. They took ages to line up and space out correctly as you just buy individual letters. I only put them on at the weekend and still not sure if they are an improvement or not.

If anyone wants "NISSAN 300ZX" in these letters I've got them left over. You can have them for a tenner which is what they cost me.

This way saves me money - I still get the admiring looks from the pavement but I don't have to put fuel in it or burn up tyres :D

it looks the biz mate. ;)

I sort of agree with Peter. I wouldnt have it done to my car, but I can admire the work on it.

The spray work and the molding of the panels is great.

FFS Peter, stop beating about the bush and tell us what you really think :D:D:D:D ROFL

I shouldn't really post when I'm 'issed. I usually stick by the 'if you've got nothing nice to say , say nothing'. However concerning the car, each to their own but it is not my idea of style.

having no engine/box, this must be the most important feature of the car lol :D

Looking awesome, shame about the h/l panel being off

Im especially liking the way peter has blended the skirts into the arches

db_117-1708_IMG1.jpg

That is extremely tasty, not" horrible", lol although i think the chrome badges look "tacky", you should sling them in the bin, it looks too good to cheapen with ford shite, its drop dead gorgeous tho m8 i like it alot

I agree with Gavo, them badges are shite mate, the belong on the back of a 33:D;) BIN THEM!

Chris,

I don't want to offend in any way, I think your car looks awesome and the bodywork by Peter has been very well done......but.........

it doesn't look like a Z!!!

Is that what you aimed to do or is that just the way it turned out?

Cheers,

F.T.:D :D

This is true!

I only put that on last week after realising that one of the old tow eyes was not usuable with the new front and we had to remove the passenger side one to fit the big intercoolers.

Suddenly thought how the hell am I going to get it onto a flatbed with no hook?!

Cost about £40 from Demon Tweeks.

When I get the nose panel back and it's on the road again I'll take it somewhere scenic and borrow my Bro's mega Sony camera for a proper set of photos.

Without the nose panel on it looks far more aggressive but with it on I think it is still obviously a Z from the front even with the wide arches.

From the back it looks more like a Ferrari or something a bit exotic.

I never really liked the standard Z rear lights and IMO they are the part of the car that makes it look most dated.

It looks like a new car now and nobody knows what it is apart from other Z and Supra owners that have stopped me so it must be pretty recognisable.

Pics before the bodykit/respray:

Hey TWAT! I never stuck it on,Peter asked if he could put it on the window for Trax.

I still think the Halfords letters look real cheap:p:p:p

Listen, having a stock Z and turning up at a meet with a load of other stock Z's is p1ss boring if you ask me.

Some of us aren't sheep and like to do something different to stand out from the herd. Yeah I did what Iain did but I had different wheels fitted, have not done my interior the same as his. Stock Z's look dated now! IMHO! :D

Eat it!!! :D :D :D

It's getting there though Phat boy!!! :D :D

I was going to give my opinion on your car but seeing as this thread has turned into a slanging match, I don't think I'll bother....

300ZX_NEWBIE,

You got the wrong end of the stick mate.

There is no slanging going on here mate just friendly humour.

Hands up anyone who took offence by anything that has been said in this post ???

If you have been on this forum long enough, then you'll know that Chris, Timmy, Roy and Macca have a lot of respect for each other so any banter between them is merely in joke form.
