Making DVD's is slow.

I bought a DVD Writer, :D so when we get a meeting I can make a DVD of it and distribute it to all my friends :D.

 

Trying to make a DIVX film go onto DVD, but it takes two and a half hours to encode the thing, but then only 15mins to write it.

 

God its slow.

    What spec is your PC as encoding will put a strain on even the fastest machines? I assume once it has encoded the file it can be saved as an iso image or similar so that it won't have be encoded every time you want to burn a copy. Could be wrong (and probably am!!)
