Gave a German a lift...

That post about 'some guy came up to me and said' got me thinking about the time I gave a German chap a lift down the A12 from one meeting to another. He turned up to the first meeting in a newish Jag XJ6. When he got into my red jap import, he looked admiringly around - especially at the glass roof (light and airy) and asked what it was that he was sitting in. I, as usual told him an old Datsun. He then asked what I'd paid for it and I told him. The rest of the journey - and all through the subsequent meeting, I could see him having a problem with the £54,000 extra he'd spent on his Jag.

I dropped him of at his car later, let him go first them took more delight by passing him with ease.

I have nothing against Germans ...it's just the memory of his annoyed face gives me pleasure.
