Radio reception on my import

Hi all,

The radio reception on my import is rubish - I get a very inconsistent radio 2 (I'm getting old!) and very few other stations.

Apparently the car has the adaptor that connects the UK stereo to Jap arials so I'm not sure what esle to do.

Any thought?

Andy,

You need a wave band expander,I think most places that convert Japanese cars to UK spec will do these.

Dump it and get an MP3 player, you can get 10/11 albums on one CD, if you have a computer that is.

Great fun and very C O O L:) :D :)

hi - my import had the same problem, that was until i ripped it our and fitted nice and loud kenwood sounds.

Anyway - it sounds like you had some sort of band xpander fitted already, mine did too BUT had a dodgy 12v feed to it, hence exactyly the same problem as you.

Best bet is to find the feed to the xpander and check it, mine was 'fitted' with gaffer tape and was very loose.

Hope this helps.
