As a few of you may know, I've decided to sell my Z & move on to something different.

Have had the Z for just over a year now & have to say it's the best car I've ever owned, but at the moment I want something with more of a racecar feel & lighter.

Got someone to take me out in a GT40 replica at the weekend & it blew me away. I've never been in a car like it. Non-existant visibility, worse MPG than a Z, hilarious to get in & out of and so loud you can't actually hear each other talk. I have to have one LMAO

Hence I'm selling all my Z bits & my Z to raise the cash to buy one.

You're not gonna get rid of me that easy though, this forum is far more entertaining than gt40s.com, so I'll still be calling this my home ;)

Cheers for all the help I've had off people in the past year, except for Nico, Duff & Waz who just convinced me to spend all my money :D:D:D

lol, Did look at the R34s but just doesn't match the 5.8 V8 :D

Have to agree with you mate, it's the only car I'd sell my Z for and could probably have bought one with the cash I've ended up spending.

Are you getting an auto or manual? :D

Here we go !!!!!! ;) :D

Jay,

Me and my old fella built a GT Developments GT40 replica some years ago. We managed to obtain an original 302 Boss engine from an original GT40 and rebuilt it and slapped that it (had 351 Windsor heads, X-bolted main crank etc...). It was awesome. Only ever needed 3rd gear to go anywhere.

And as for overtaking, it was awesome!!!

Which kit are you buying? Is it a fully built on or ar eyou gonna put it together yourself?

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Gonna go for a fully built kit, mainly cause I want one NOW lol

Only problem is finding a good one, gonna probably go for the 351ci myself or maybe 302 if one comes up :D

Nice one. Make sure you check out the gear change mechanism on the right hand change. Certainly on the GTD kit it was a real complicated thing that was forever breaking when you were going for first or reverse. Dont know what its like on other kits but just something to note!

Other than that, good luck, cos they are awesome!!

Check out real steel or reel steel, something like that. Uk Chevy/Ford/Mopar etc engine people. They do a GT40 spec engine from Ford that would be just the job :)

Where can you find these kits? I was gonna do a Datsun 240z V8 but this is tempting also :) Any websites would be useful.

Cheers

Its REAL STEEL and they are the UK V8 masters, what they don't know about V8s just isn't worth knowing.
