January 30, 200323 yr I've been told that the wiring in 300s is not what it should be. Now given the fact that these cars have lots of wiring, could it be that this is the single greatest cause of problems in these cars.... ...over to Andy Duff...........
January 30, 200323 yr I think age and underbonnet heat are the two causes of most failures - barring catastrophic mechanical failures like turbo's, oil starvation, the Warren factor (only kidding m8!) Lets face it - 12 years of searing underbonnet temperatures, and rapid heat cycles, is going to turn plastics brittle, make copper corrode nicely (when you add that heat to some moisture), and is going to turn everything rubber to brittle, cracked stuff.. And lets not forget, the majority of the Z's in this country are early 90's, there are very few 95> cars over here - perhaps the story would be different if that were to change, and 1999 cars etc started coming in.. We'd probably think they were fantastically reliable..
