Chapz

Given that my first and only zed always ran in safety I am not aware of the true boost it (or any proper-running zed) should peak at in first and second gears....

The reason I mention this is, I am going to look at an import TT manual out at Jap Village when he has the thing sorted from the boat trip.... I called him on the phone and asked about a couple of things - the fourth gear synchro and how it boosted (cant handle another knock sensor nightmare)

He said his driver had given it some and it only boosted right up in third as and i quote:

"300TT's dont boost right up in first and second.. they are like the GT4's and MR2 turbos like that - only get max boost in 3rd onwards"

I wonder if there is any credence in this?

He cannot warrant the 67k on the clock either - are 11 year old Jap imports really gonna be that low in miles done?

Thanks as alwayz chapz,

Glen

Yes he is correct the TT will only boost two Zero Psi in First and Second.

Also that Loud Knocking Noise is Just a unbalanced wheel - The Plumes of Black and Blue smoke puthering forth from the Exhuast are also just for show again perfectly normal,

That Con Rod looking thing sticking out of the bonnet is Also just a new Special japanese hood ornament.

Also the pink think above is infact a spacial disruption and not a flying pig.

Run mate - Run Fast and far....

He has no idea about the car and either is Driving it very badly or the car is damaged. I would continue your search - Check Charlesworths mate.

60K is not uncommon for a import of 10 years there is a land shortage in Japan and commuting is very popular - you get to grope Japanese school girls that way you see.

Glen,

I don't know about the boost, someone else will have to settle that for you. Plus I don't know much about the differences between the manual and auto. characteristics.

As for the miles, it is fairly usual for imports to be low, Japan is a very small island and with the congestion around the cities like Tokyo etc. combined with the speed limiters Jap. peeps probably don't do alot of miles. Not like us looney Brits. Also the MOT system out there is harsh, most Jap. people change there cars before the first MOT is due as it usually costs a couple of grand to get them through. Another reason why they don't do alot of miles, so that the MOT is less painful.

Has the car got any history with it Glen?

Hi Glen,

Full boost in all gears mate - not that I get much chance to look in 1st. Hang on a second, "

(Me) Lynsay, when I put my foot down in 1st gear does that pointy thing go all the way to the right?

(Lynsay) I don't know my darling, everything just went blurred!!!"

Sorry mate but I'm right with Nico on this one. If he's trying to blag you on this one then what else?????

Keep hunting bud, as the summer months are here there are more TTs around. For what it costs looking around, you will save £££ in the long run - as you already know! wink.gif

Good luck mate,

Andy

Hi,

Why risk your all on a car that isn't even in the Country, when there are lots for sale, right here on mainland Blighty, that you can try straight away?

JEZ

My '91 Jap Z only had 48000 on the clock when I got it. Had my doubts about it at first but it certainly seems in good condition.

Thanks

I dunno frown.gif

Got seven large burning a hole in my pocket for the right zed... I know what ya saying though - so many sheds out there...... went to look at one in Oxford, guy wanted £5995 for it, sounded great, got there and it bubbled like a grumpy infant and aircon was shot, didnt even test drive it..

Oh well, ill keep on plodding on. When i find her you can all breathe a sigh of relief and I'll quit with all daft questions...

Peace.

Glen

My 92 TT auto had only down 27K miles, (was actually something like 42000Km before conversion) when I bought it about two years ago. Low mileage is common on direct imports.

Hi,

When I bought my Non-Turbo car last year, I also looked at several TT's, but most of them were sheds! We travelled all over the Country until I found a car which I thought was good enough...I knew straight away on the test drive that it was one of the fastest NA's I had seen.I subsequently found a few minor problems...but then that's Z ownership for you!!

JEZ wink.gif

on my dsbc (boost controller) it reads out peak and i get whatever boost i desire in any gear

Glen me old mate,

Have you tried looking in Top Marques? Slightly better quality of second hander than it's brother(Auto Trader).

Have you tried Charlesworths like Nico suggested? Keep looking geeZer, if you've got 7K find a car worth your wonga!

Later
