hi guys, trying to get to the cause of this and bypass it, ok my cr is a 1990 JDM import, i used to have a kmh/mph converter on the car and it was fine. however i have now fitted uk clocks and every time i stop the car bongs at me, not sure if JDM cars do this as standard or if this is a fault somewhere. but hopefully looking at a way to stop it.

 

any advice info appreciated.

This is a quirk of fitting a UK speedo to the Jap spec car`s, both of my zeds did this, and the first one was in the mid nineties so not a new issue, never bothered my that much so left it. The unit making the dong can be disconnected easily by removing the two screws holding the speedo hood on top and the unit is right there,however this also means the lights on alert will be disconnected.

 

You can snip the cable just for the speedo issue separately if you wish, sure some one here will know the cable colour.

Cheers Jeff, it’s not abnormally loud just a bit annoying, especially in slow moving traffic.
