I vaguely remember reading on here somewhere (think it may have been by JeffTT) that if you pull the vac pipe off the fuel damper that it shouldn't smell of fuel.

 

When I pull mine,with the engine off, it stinks of fuel!

 

Can someone confirm that it is that damper that is knackered before I order a new one, if i can find one.

If you are replacing the damper you should also replace the FPR:
