Went up against a ZR1 'vette in my old Lancia a few years ago. Not an experience I'd care to repeat !! :( They're certainly quick !

No, just curious. If petrol was cheap and I was in USA, or parts for US cars were readily available here with knowledgeable mechanics etc., I might have considered one.

 

They certainly look different (& nice) and attract attention; and they are an american icon. It must be like driving a piece of history.

They do look good, although I reckon Z's look better !

 

I think I were ever to go American it would have to be a Viper though - now they ARE eyecatching !!

Was looking at getting one of those Stingray style 1970's bad boys.

 

Took one out - nice noise, no go. Unbelievably soft suspension and really not my idea of a sportscar. Very slow for a 5.6 V8!!! I think they look awesome though. :D

 

The earlier ones are MUCH faster though (US got caned over oil crisis and emissions and stuff for a bit)

 

The later ones are very quick, but until recently didn't handle too well.

 

Now what you really want is a Callaway version. 237mph!!!

I reckon the vette's are a stunning looking car, and from the sounds of it they aren't short of a bit of poke either.. :D

Viper is AWESOME to look at though, but ive seen the interior on one and to say its aweful it an understatement!
