Hi all , I've just bought a 300zx TT Auto Jap90 , literally just off the boat , registered 2 days ago.

Monster Exhaust , interesting wheels , its going to be more fun than my last car ( A4 Quattro ) thats for sure!

Having driven it quite hard ( weather permitting ) I have noticed at speeds of 60 plus , a slight chiming noise every 3 seconds coming from the engine area. Its has a 60k belt change , recent oil/plugs etc.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be , appreciate any help.

Hiya mate congrats on your new car. Has the car been de limited or is it still restricted to 110 mph.

 

That noise usually appears at that speed if the cra has not been restricted and also the cruise control wont really work at any decent speed.

Well................it's the Japs letting you know your speeding!

 

You need to have the UK conversion done on the car, KMH to MPH (chip)..........and a few other bits and bobs to I would imagine to bring it upto UK spec, well legal at least.

 

You will also find your limited to doing 112mph then you will get no more from the Z until you have the conversion done.

 

But it's nothing to worry about all Jap imports have this, Well I imagine they do as most have this problem when they get them off the boat.

You can disable the chime your self it's very easy.
