Quick?

HICAS light comes on after about 15/20 Mins mainly motorway driving.

I have heard something about the spline/spindle (excuse my lack of knowledge!!) maybe mis-aligned, so the HICAS thinks the car is repeatedly steering etc!!!

Is this true?....has ne one got any advice!!

Yes that could be true - altho i think you would get it a lot more if that was the case.

Check Fluid - most common cause of HICAS light.

Do the Diagnosis on TT.net see what errors you get if any. It is a tricky procedure - keep trying tho - it can help to drive the front wheels onto small planks to help get with the turning bit.

Hope that helps a bit

Is the steering wheel straight when you drive??? If its not, the hicas steers all the time then shuts down thinking its faulty and the light comes on.

Driving on the motorway makes the light come on because you are more likely to be in a constant straight line (???) whereas when you are driving on normal roads the steering position is constantly changing - my explanations just get worse and worse wink.gif

Just been chatting with nico on this one - did you change your steering wheel? If so this will probably be the problem.

Hope this helps,

Andy
