Hi guys! HAPPY NEW YEAR

Is there a turbo timer that fits in the stereo recess in the dash as my car has 2 stereo's fitted but i only really need one.

Unlikely - they tend to be a lot smaller than that. You're better off getting a little 'cubby hole'. Andy probably has one - they were a standard fit.

You may be able to get one that fits in place of the standard digital clock.

You guys reccomend any in particular.

Watch out for CAT1 alarms. They generally don't like turbo timers. Just leave the engine running while you get your stuff together in the car, and only switch off as the last thing you do as you get out of the car. You should be OK then without a turbo timer.

I have a FET turbo timer. I also have a Cat1 and don't have any problems at all.

I can not arm the alarm while the engine is running. However I have thought about getting it wired up so that the alarm activates once the engine stops.

Exactly, you have to wait till the engine is off before activating the alarm......might as well not bother with the timer. As for setting up your alarm to activate when the TT switches off......that sounds easy..NOT! Where the hell do you start? I think they involve too much faffing about for very little real benefit. As long as you don't come screeching to a halt from a sustained 100mph blast and shut it down you should be alright.

Well regarding a turbo timer, you do have to wait, but to be completly honest, if your comming down to a stop at say your house, your more than likely not hammering it and i have never had to wait for more than 10-15 seconds really once i have switched of. Cane it on the motorway though and i have had 2 minutes for cooldown, i also find that (this is wierd or sounds wierd) times when you think you need to leave it ideling forever the timer just shuts down.

Well worth getting in my opinion.

Well I really should find an instruction booklet for my one. It was on the car when I got it, I seem to be able to set the run on time manually from 1 to 10 minutes or I can let the timer figure out how long it needs to stay on for. I have three settings overall manual, L and H. Not really sure what the difference is between L and H. I imagine that it is Low and High run on time.

The longest I have had to wait was 3.5 minutes. The shortest has been about 10 seconds.

Anyone know what the L and H settings on a FET Turbo Timer do ?

Hi Wedge,

You can fit the Blitz DTT-DC turbo timer in the place of your digital clock. I have seen one and it looks cool but haven't got a pic for it.

I can get you the Blitz DTT-DC (silver or Black) for £125 or the HKS Type1 for £118. Price includes the Harness and delivery to your door.

If you ever want one just drop me a mail mate.

cheers
