Hey all...I`m wearing me Santa hat!

seriously though, there`s a quick Q.

Had my front tension rod bushes replaced recently. A higly reccomended move, front end feels as sharp as a knife!

However, it has exposed a weakness in my rear end...left hand lock is cool but the car does slide gradually on mid speed righties. I`m having the rear dampers replaced in January...reckon this will cure it or is there something else I need to be looking at?

BTW: A check on all injector connections is cool too. Had one fixed about a fortnight back but another has gone now....car`s running smoothly at idle but no power and very sporadic acceleration. While winters here, might be worth checking out.

Happy Chrimbly to one and all!

Incidentally guys, how come is it that the only three times I`ve posted here wanting help, none of you have responded?

I really could use a few tips here.....

Hope alls well for you and yours over the holidays...my sincere best wishes for one and all.....

Steve

Hi Steve :D ,

Sorry no one has replied to your question. I can;t really offer that much help. All I can do is offer a little reading for you. I have attached a couple of links which would tell you almost everything you need to know about the front and rear Suspension and Axles.

Front - http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_11.htm

Rear - http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_12.htm

Steering - http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_14.htm

I hope this helps a little. Again sorry for not being able to help more.

Take care

;)

Pah! suppose I'd best respond then ;)

The rear end could be a number of things - worn shocks/worn rear hicas links/worn bushes/bad tyres/bad tracking. Jack each wheel up and give it a good wobble to see if there is any play in the suspension. Have a look at the subframe bushes - see if they have been leaking. Get a 4 wheel alignment done - this should be done fairly regularly anyway.

In terms of the rough running, check the PTU and CAS connectors. Both units are on the front of the cambelt covers - PTU is rectangular on the left (looking from the front) and the CAS is round and on the right. Check BOTH connectors on the PTU. Just make sure they are clean on the contacts. Check the injector connectors and the coilpack connectors too ;)

Happy now? :D

The curry I had last night has "exposed a weakness in MY rear end!"

I had a similar kind of feeling on fast cornering and it turned out to be (don't know what its called) something like a cv joint on rear nearside wheel was totally shot. The part I need is actually on back order from Nissan but I'm certain this will tighten my rear right up.........thank goodness!

Could any of you point me at an article or explain how I can check the injector connectors?

Thanks very much again
