NZR How do I send text messages to a mobile from internet

Is there a website which allows you to send text messages to a mobile phone?

Try O2 for a start (you don't have to have a phone on O2 itself)

BTW - it's free, too! :D

 

Boltblue also do them...but you have to ring up and pay for those...

 

There are others about, but O2's quite good.

So if you send the text via PC,the person who recieved it does not know who it is from?

The reason why I'm doing this is because I want to send a message to a friend on the net as I do not own a mobile phone - I don't particularly like them personally.

the person does know who it is from because your nick is sent at the start or the end of the message. This is why you have to sign up, I think people got pissed off with anonymous messages.

I dont think anywhere does it any more.
