Last year, I organised a "group buy" over on the 350Z forum for retrims. The reason I did it over there first is because they only have two seats which (in theory, anyway) meant I could keep the waiting time down to a minimum.

But I've been here for a few years now so I'm considering setting one up for Z32 owners on this fine forum. :thumbup1:

There would be a couple of rules and stipulations, so here they are:

The discount would be a maximum of 25%, which would be entirely dependent on the numbers involved. If I did it the same as the 350Z one, it'd be as follows: 5 to 9 members total would get a 15% discount, whereas 10 or more members would all receive a 25% discount!

The group buy would only go ahead once at least 5 (or 10) participants had paid their relevant deposits.

The minimum requirement for this would be seats (either front two, or all four).

Delivery would not be included in any costings.

There would be no limits on materials or designs or anything like that - the only limits would be your imagination (and the depth of your pockets ;) ).

Realistically, any work for this GB wouldn't be taking place until mid-2017 by my reckoning, so that's something else to bear in mind.

So, with all that said, might there be many (or any!) members interested in such a thing....?

Discuss. :)

Serious serious thought has been given to this as, logistically, it's a huge undertaking for me. But I've decided to go ahead with it anyway!

I've PM'd Groover and, once I get the green light from him, I'll be starting a proper thread for this Group Buy.

PLEASE bear in mind that it will be at least this time next year before any work starts! As I've said previously, I can appreciate that this is a long timescale, but it's the only way I can do it and (hopefully) manage everyone's expectations as well.

I'm expecting the timelines to run like so: September will be spent getting names of interested parties and finalising design specs, then October will be taking deposits and issuing receipts.

Hopefully this will suit the vast majority of people and I'll be able to run a hugely successful Group Buy and completely burn myself out in the process!

Usual PayPal address bud??

When we get to that point in a month or so, yes!

Damn, you're a keen one.....

You know me, just making sure you know I'm wanting this . I'll be looking for door cards, rear quarters, headlining, all the interior panels (glovebox, tunnel trims etc.) undecided about my seats at the minute as I've got newly trimmed ones to go into the car. I do have a pair of Sparco Milano's and a pair of Koenig K5000's that I might want to fit at some stage, so will want a matching rear seat to tie in with them:innocent::thumbup:

Groover has just replied and it's all systems go now. :)

So there'll be a thread going live tomorrow for interested parties to register on. So get your thinking caps on and start working out exactly what you're after! :thumbup1:

You have my list:tt2:

I have a list... but no mention of materials, colours, etc... ;)

But plenty of time for all that :)

Will you do a VW T4 camper?

It's funny you should ask that, Dean... I'd decided to open this to members cars, rather than strictly Zeds.

So yes, any vehicle owned by a club member would be eligible :thumbup1:
