Under plans revealed yesterday the police aim to double the number of speed cameras on our roads from 4,500 to 9,000, and use them to issue ten million speeding tickets a year.

 

A spokesman from the Association of British Drivers (ABD) commented: "With around thirty million drivers in Britain, this means they aim to catch us all every three years. The vast majority of the adult population of Great Britain are drivers, and the police are out to get every single one of us. With violent crime continuing to increase, we really do have to ask whose side the police are on".

 

The ABD is campaigning for a legislation change which prevents police forces retaining speed camera revenue, and also for speeding prosecutions to be removed from the proposed league tables of police performance.

It's OK - what goes around comes around. Just think about it for a second guyz. If they keep increasing the number of cameras, the number of points on licenses goes up, until everyone gets banned from driving!!! Once everyones been banned from driving, who are they gonna prosecute then???? Because we can't drive, we can't work, so we'll be able to keep an eye on our own property so theft crimes will also go down... can you see where this is leading anybody???? The fact is, there'll be far less crime and there'll be a lot of police officers with nothing to do - so they lose their jobs as well!!!!

So what are all those redundant traffic shnitzers going to do all day then? Put them back in DM's instead of f**king BMW M3's and T5's and hopefully the real crime rate will start to fall!

 

If the forces weren't generating so much revenue from camera's and speeding in general I think that things would be very different.

 

Put it this way, if I kept getting banned then I would be forced to drive anyway. We'll end up like the US where people are constantly done for driving after being banned!

having been banned six times i can say it doesnt stop you driving it just makes you do even more criminal things to make sure you dont get caught whilst banned the problem in the uk is we have too many scroungers and other layabouts on the social etc for the normal uk tax burden so they have to find other revenues to plunder and where else do you have over ten million suckers who 9 times out of ten just pay up when the ticket comes through your door if only we were as big as the us......not all dibble are wankers though it must be said ive been let off a good few times when i was clearly in a license loosing situation

Now this seems queer to me:

Outside my house is a (fairly) main-ish road but it slap bang in a residential area.

You know the kind of place... school 200 yards down one way, shops, a bus stop, a few old folks bungalows. The Nova/Orion/XR2 soapy tit wank brigade drive up and down this road allday at *STUPID* redline speeds.. there is a CCTV camera which they just laugh at. No fucking GATSO where it would save a life, in fact I'd pay for a GATSO, as it is required. To stop the NOVA boys killing one of my little girls going to school.

But I drive out of town and onto the A1 North and, weather and road conditions permitting, I bomb along and BINGO BANGO GLENO GETSO A GATSO, and 3 points and some more cash into the bulging coffers.

There is no logic in this and it FUCKING stinks. All planners and traffic divisions can suck my tail pipes.

Senna , I couldn't agree more with you mate.

 

If I recall correctly, I recently read in the Metro (a class paper free on the London Underground) that 1 camera is netting in 5,000GBP per hr, I think its on the M11, strategically placed in a position where the national speed limit stops and goes to 50 and then gets back to 70mph. You can guess why its netting in so much cash. :MAD:

 

Did anyone else read about it??

Were up late tonight!

 

Something here to wind you up a little more. Went out to night and on getting back to the car a white transit van pulls up and 4 traffic wardens pop out and start booking cars on single yellows, the time 11.00pm

 

They than get back in and start doing all the side roads.

 

The ones I hate the most has got be be the ones on the mopeds, it's so damn hard to see the B%$stards coming!

Let me tell you (and I'm up wayyy to late - god bless self employment)

If you are driving round my neck of the woods in a nice shiny Zed and Four blokes jump out of a transit... you floor it and leave v.v.quickly, before they nick your wheels and promise to tarmac your drive for a fiver.

You can check if you have a speeding ticket. I get this e-mail message from some unknown source.

 

This site claims that many speed cameras log speeders even if a ticket

isn't sent. I was horrified to find my details on here.
