Rear caliper piston removal

Hi guys need tips on removing Pistons from rear calipers removed both on the brake pipe side but can't budge the opposite side piston on both calipers. Tried loads of wd40 big screwdriver and tried to turn with mole grips . I haven't got access to compressed air so I've run out of ideas now. left to soak in wd40 any tips please .

Hook back up to the brakes pipes on the car.

Wedge some wood between (where the disc would traditionally go).

Gently pump the brakes. That'll force the pistons out.

Just remember this is a bloody messy way of doing it though.

You got a friendly garage near by?

I'm sure they'll use the compressed air method for you for a few quid.

You could also use a standard car air compressor (the kind for pumping up your tyres that plugs into your cig lighter. It'll take a while, but so long as you have a good seal at the entry point it will slowly remove them.

I actually did this exact job yesterday, but luckily I'm at work on the tug so have access to compressed air.

Ok thanks guys my mate has a big compessor I'll take them round his .

Given the abundance of good used rear calipers just get another set, they rarely seize like that.

If you do want to repair yours however here is a guide how to get out seized pistons, the link is for front calipers with four pistons but the same method can be used for the rear.
