i was thinking this site should have a traders feed back section, reasons... it would help us choose who to use or were to buy parts from. help us pick whos best for what jobs on the cars. help the good traders get more biz, make the bad traders buck there ideas up. not just for trader on here but any were you buy or take you car

example i used trader xxxx to fit my new clutch, job was done on time car came back working perfect, would deffo use this trader xxxxx gain 5/5

example i bought back box from trader xxxxxx it tuned up 6 week later and poor quality would not but again from trader xxxxx 0/5

there would be rules you can only post your feed back and thats it nothing more no one can comment on it , it would just get deleted. you feed back and review and people can read thro and then its upto them to pick.

Think it has been tried and did not work out, one thing though not been tried is a customer quality rating, this to help traders decide on what jobs to take on and maybe warn other traders of bad payers, messer`s, liars, cheats, bullies, swindlers, tricksters, fraudster`s and general know it alls. ( and there are some in any car club) can see it would be a massive flame war!!

Yup, lots of tit for tat arguments and the area was binned. Nice idea but as you say, didn't work.

it could work it there were rules, you can post you review of the trader, or seller. but its not a thread or section you can just go on and have a big debate, you review and thats all you can do. people reviews my work all the time, every were you go nowdays you can leave feed and reviews thats the way buying good or having work done works nodays this site needs to catch up and try it again. with rules if it fails again then ok but the section will not be aloud the have a big debate you post your feed back and this is all other members cant just comment on it, i have been getting help from a trader on here with stuff i have been doing to my car he has helped me over the fone so many times now i have lost count and and always had time to speak even when busy. this section could work if done in the correct way. lets face it its working for everyone else round the world why is this site so special that it cant have one to

???

There is a 300zx trader review Facebook Page. I suggest those that wish to do some research could start there.

I agree its not for this forum.

Not for us Dan. It could and would end up getting personal and nasty. Don't open this can!

I understand what you're saying, Gaz. But, realistically (and possibly ideally), the only reason any kind of feedback system would degenerate into mud-slinging would be if a trader gave a customer reason to leave neutral or negative feedback.

If the trader and the customer are both happy then the feedback should reflect that. Again, ideally.

I can't imagine there'd be any danger for this forum to be held accountable for any negative comments that might appear - a simple disclaimer should relieve that worry. :)

I think if there were to be a feedback system implemented, it should be for both traders and customers!

agree 100%

Alternatively, why not have a poll when a Trader is coming up for renewal?

The voters' identities aren't disclosed to anyone other than forum staff, much like COTM now. If a trader has the majority of positive votes, they're invited to renew. If not, then the trader is PM'd by Staff to tell them that their Trader status will come to an end at the renewal date.

Best of both worlds...?

I think I'm up for renewal in January some time, so I'm more than happy to play guinea pig for a "renewal poll" to see how it works out.

Worth considering, guys...?

just a well policed section i think would work its every were else no reason it should be here to, would help owner of the 300zx to choose were to shop and who to use for work on there cars, and help traders show off there good workman ship

This is Groovers area as TLO so lets wait for his views. This was discussed in the Committee rooms back in May this year and we have an idea that might work.

intresting care to tell us more ?

Is it ........................topsecret.jpg

Ok a good few views there with only Mondo touching on it been a two ways street as such, although I will take you to task on one point Mondeo, your suggestion that the ONLY reason a bad revue would occur is if a trader did something wrong, I don`t agree bad traders exist of course but so do bad customers!!! that needs address as well.

The point I was making above that looked in jest was actually quite serious and one that of course the forum has to bear in mind and has done in the past, that been, a bad revue of an otherwise good trader can cause real damage to that traders ability to continue.

Now if the trader is working from home, doing what ever he is as a "second" income and his mortgage and kids food table is safe that`s another deal, but consider this, many tax paying traders are one man operations who have taken the plunge to work for themselves and often at some great expense to their home life and risking a lot to build their chosen business. ( not the one`s doing the same but signing on as well ( you know who you are) ) So with that in mind a badly thought out review or even and dare I say it a less than true full opinion that becomes a review could easily finish a trader especially as the Chinese whispers is inevitable, meanwhile the complainant / reviewer goes merrily to work the next day to punch in at his or her salary job in the secure knowledge that at the end of the month the bills are getting paid the mortgage is getting paid and the kids are fed, the trader who has been vilified may not be so lucky.

Of course the argument could be made that good review will help build a new business and I cannot disagree with that except to say a hundred thumbs up will never beat that one thumbs down from an apparent disgruntled customer who tells the world, of course there are bad trader`s all of the place least not the 300zx scene but is the forum the best place to deal with it? not sure.

Containing the issue is not possible by the forum with rules or no rules because we live in a social media world of 2015 and it will just carry on to the wider audience be it via other forums or many of the other Face book based clubs and forums non of which can be controlled by the committee here. You all know who I am and that for near on 17 years I enjoyed good and bad times as Zedworld and of the bad times ( thankfully few ) it was this kind if thing that got me down the most, not the working till midnight, not the johnny come lately`s copying everything we did ( you know how you are !) or even the battle to build and keep a small business profitable amidst the ocean of taxation, rents and VAT no it was the bad mouthing, so I am not calling them review because they are often anything but, they were just bad mouthing because its fairy automonous from behind a keyboard, what happens the little cliques and circles of friends that always create themselves in clubs and forums circle like wolves and soon people have opinion`s that are not even their own having never even used that trader......thin end of the wedge my friends, oh and the irony is not lost on me one bit as to who the original poster of this thread was.

I'll take you to task on getting my name spelled correctly, Jeff...!!

Also, I said ideally a bad review should only occur based on bad work. In the really real world, as you've stated, there are cliques that can form and suddenly a trader finds themselves being badmouthed all over the Net... I still honestly believe that even that should only begin due to a dissatisfied customer though. It's up to the trader to do everything in their power (short of ripping themselves off, of course) to ensure that each and every customer is a happy one.

Again, ideal world maybe. :)

Ha ha guess what I changed the pads on yesterday...... a flipping Ford!!

Apologise and correcting now!

Jeff

Update spelling sorted

My personal opinion. I would suggest a system with positive feedback only. It would remove the negative aspect of this sort of idea.

Agree, agree, the trader has set themselves up to supply a service and rightly so they have the responsibility for that, however the point I was trying to make is bad trader + good customer = not good good trader + bad customer = not fair. A trader does not want to be thought of as been bad, but will hopefully try and resolve any issue`s, however a bad customer will never admit to any wrong doing end of, and they do exis,t honestly they do, just stick around long enough with your life in their hands and you will see.

Jeff

as a builder i work of feed back dam rite to so i make sure i do a good job to start with as they say your only as good as your last job, and that is a fact in my game. so i am in both boats here a customer and a trader so my idea is not just for customers its for traders to do a good job and if you do you have nothing to fear fromfeed back as it your friend not you enemy
