Top Gear - Good. Driven - Poo!

'Aint Top Gear getting political? They slagged the government in just about every article (rightly so....have you used the M4 since that sodding bus lane? )

Not too much of any great interest for me this week, however I wasn't surprised that the school kids liked the Countach the best out of the 360, Zonda, Skyline and TVR. It may be nearly 30 years old and not so 'swoopy', but lets face it, it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Still the most WICKED looking car ever IMO.

As for Driven......I used to like that program. The presenters are still OK (although Jason Plato is starting to be more of a prick at times) It's the bloody format that gets me down. Can't stand all the articles being broken up into five or six segments scattered around in the program. Just show the whole thing will ya? It gets dis-jointed and I start to lose interest. It makes the program longer if they keep having to re-introduce each section and give an update from the last time, but the only reason I can see for that is if they are trying to fill time with not very much content. Makes the program cheaper to air for the amount of work that has gone into it (lazy sods!)

agree with you man on driven. i was getting annoyed as well when watching it, its just a scam to get you to watch all of it. dont like it even so.

cheers

steve

Was chatting to one of my clients earlier today about this (he is in the Film & TV industry) He confirmed that it's to reduce the cost of the program to make, compared to how much time it takes up in the schedule. Hence, the Driven program last night probably had a total of about 35 mins of content, but with advert breaks and re-introducing the items time and again, it actually stretches it out to 1 hour! CON!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Fat Bloke (it's become a tradition:D ) He didn't piss me off too much this time, maybe because Jason Plato was being a prick on the other show. Bet I hate him again next week though!

I've got a different take on this.

I don't really watch Driven, but I'm usually about when Top Gear is on. I decided last night to abandon watching it because

a) Clarkson is a terrible c**t, and

b) it doesn't have enough stuff about cars in it

I don't want to sit and have Clarkson tell me which cars are cool, and have to endure him laughing at audience members or queer-bashing. I want to ogle delicious automobiles going quickly. I don't want that odious little pube in the big collars to scoff at environmental issues so the Max Power brigade can 'ave a larff. Actually I don't want Top Gear to talk about traffic congestion or Gatso's at all. Talk about CARS, FFS!

"Do you trust the government?" No, but I'll watch "newsnight" or "question time" to form that opinion. And I'm not interested in which faith has the fastest Scooby driver. It's peurile and pathetic filler for an otherwise completely vacuous programme.

And the salesman fella: Actually I don't mind him. I'd rather watch him than Dastardly Clarkson and his Mutley sidekick.

Oooo, hark at Russ! Well, it's monday!!

LMAO yet you watched the entire programme :D

I think its not to bad, would be far better without the the people standing around, and with maby some more car comparrisons ect.

Yeah, gotta agree, was saying the same to everyone at work today. The bloody feature's split into about 5 different segments, what a wind-up!
