SWB TT Manual

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy my FIRST z..... Big news haha, anyways, I'm looking for a SWB, TT Manual. I've got UP TO 5kish to spend. I'd PREFER leather but not necessary, i'd get leather seats put in if need be, only thing that bothers me is if it runs spot on really... as i know the turbos are a 'take t z1' job if they go :/. Not bothered if modified or not, i currently have a car that can give me 8mpg with a heavy foot so i know i can run a modified car :) Cheers guys, I won't make any dead set decisions for a week or two as theres a few cars ive seen about im interested in but i think my heart is set on a z... just got to find 'the one' :) If you think im being optimistic on the budget then just say 'stingey git!' or something, let me know if im way off or can get a corker for that :) much z love,

Nathan

Hi Nathan, welcome to the club, i think you should get a good zed for that budget, turbos are fine, but an unloved and badly serviced zed will likely end up with issues, usually turbo seals, which become more apparent after a decat, but certainly can be replaced/rebuilt in this country :thumbup1:

fantastic news :) thank you very much mate :) is it mainly turbo seals to look out for or is there any other key points to look for when buying? sills for example? thanks

Obviously engine condition, any smoke or oil leaks, mileage, not likely much history on an import, but depending on mileage, timing belt.

Body wise, most imports hadnt seen salt on the roads in Japan, however the longer they are in the UK the more chance they have lol, sills, rear arches mostly on the UK, but worth having a very close look.

We have a buyers guide in the tech faq section above, plus loads of other info, so when you get a chance, take a look and get a bit more prepared knowledge wise before you jump in and buy one.
