is it simply a matter of unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one on? or is there more to it!?

cheers

yeah just unscrew the old one, and then the new unit should come with a few littel anlen keys and some plastic inserts (for sizing)

once its on and your happy with the height ect, you can just tighten the alen keys and then screw it up ect and your in business.

A word of warning though, some knobs are a little tight and if you still have the origional gator you may have problems making this look neat and tidy. Mines a Momo and I had to alter the gator slighly now it's fcuk'd so I got to get a new one :D .

I also have a momo and it fitted a treat.? :D

its actually the one id suggest.

The other thing to watch is a lot of the replacement gearknobs are very light compared to the original - probably intended for Nova gearboxes rather than z boxes.

I would go for one of a similar weight to original as it helps with smooth shifting.

The originals are loctite'd on and can be a real bugger to remove. Mine was so tight that it left the aluminium thread behind on the steel shaft. Easy to clean up once it's off of course. Then replaced it with a nice new Navan one from Courtesy.
