this might help to some of you -

I was taking to a valeter at the weekend and he noticed the amount of stonechips on the front of my car...

I've been polishing it with Autoglym super resin and had notcied that the chips were much more noticeable after a polish

He seemed to think that if I used a polish that was the colour of the car (black) then the chips wouldn't show up as much cos the reason they show up more is cos the polish gets stuck in the 'holes'.

i havent tried it yet but he seemed pretty sure that it would help the situation...???

Good idea mate, but like shoe polish, wears off. Perhaps polish it for those sat night cruises!!!!!

That colour match polish stuff is SHIT! It might make it look a 'bit' better for a while, but get the chips repaired properly IMHO

Respary your nose once a year keeps the stone chips away from your ear!!!!

Theres a polish which comes with a small crayon(looks like lipstick),thats called Turtlewax Colourmagic Plus.

I've used it on my wifes car for fine scratches and swirls and it works, but only for a short while(until it's due a polish again)

But for stone chips?I suppose it depends how deep they are.

In any case it's worth a try!

Cheers,

F.T.
