Lets say, hypothetically, that I was importing a vehicle from the States.

It is/could be a 1941 vehicle. Or maybe a 1945 ?

 

Whats required once its landed ? Roadtax exempt ? What regulations for the m.o.t. ? SVA, etc ? Just making plans !

Pre 1960- MOT exempt. Pre 1973/74 road tax exempt. I think from states 10% import duty plus vat. (Possibly less if vehicle is parts/scrap)

There is a guy in Grangemouth who brings in old stuff from US, he advertises on Ebay he seems like an approachable bloke (to ask advice etc)

 

There's info in .Gov.uk website giving details of importing old cars -sorry mate I dont have a link but you'll find it with a bit of googling.
