Clarkson sacked as honorary president of the Skyline Club

Featured Replies

lol i cant believe that is in the mirror, i was reading their little rant about it on their forum hehe. Watch out for those R32's the discs might explode ;) :D:rolleyes:

Well I guess I only know half the story here, but it's not Clarkesons' fault is it ? Surely its' the fat bloke ...

I agree it was a really crap review - they said it was a great car but didn't show it off to it's full potential by driving around streets.

It was hardly Clarkson's fault though.

Who is that fat bloke anyway?

Basically what has happened as far as I can gather;

After the show last Sunday a few members of the gtr register had a boo and a bitch about the review and discussion on the Skylines GTR.

A reporter(?) from the Mirror got wind of the thread and contacted someone from the register who was then mis-quoted in the article John mentioned, basically tit for tat as Clarkson writes for the Sun/Times and we all know how the Mirror and News Corporation feel about each other ;)

It was then reported on Virgin Radio (where VBH reads the travel news) and spread over the internet.

Its basically a case of 'someone said something, someone else said someone said something, someone put it in a newspaper article, and everyone fell out with everyone else'

Bit like round here to be honest ;)

You said it!

Oh you (all Skyline owners) seem to take it far too seriously don't ya??? I say, get a fcukin' life!!! :D

ah that old throw insults chestnut again!

grow up and come back with a worthy put down, merely taking the piss on the skyline front becomes repetetive after a while.

there is a program that binds key presses in Quake 3, so you can bind a comment to a single keypress.

Tim get this program mate, it would save you an awful lot of typing, you could just bind say the letter x on your keyboard to diss Skylines, g to say something childish about hippies and q to be your stamping up and down and swearing at anyone who doesnt agree with you.

now run along, someone mentioned a skyline on another thread and we could have that could we ?

ROTFL!

And now Clarkson's slagged off the 300, I suspect he meant the MkI but the damage is done - but at the end of the day who gives a crap.

I still find Jeremy highly amusing - he redefined motoring journos, he was funny in print in Performance Car all those years ago, and he's amusing in front of the camera.

Tim

PS: Timmy give it a rest it's old hat now!
