My car is having a clutch change at the moment, will be ready tomorrow :D.

Anyway, talking to the mechanic and he says that he really doubts the turbos are original which I thought. He said they are way too clean to be original and too good condition from what he can see from the outside. Also I asked if it worth changing the gear oil while the gearbox is off, and I was told that the gear oil is perfect and it looks like the gearbox has been recond too. :S

 

So far out of this clutch change I have got new turbos and a new gear box. LOL ;)

 

 

Anyway, another question. My downpipe is blowing. I asked if they could patch it while its in the workshop and I was told that if its an area under the heat sheild its hard to get cos it means taking the shield off and then putting it back after, but then it will rattle like mad cos you can never get it back on properly. So I may be looking at getting new downpipes soon. What shall I do? De Cat or stay stock?

De-cat man, you'll love it. Providing your Z is old enough not to need them for your mot!? 1995 I think is as new as it can be without requiring them to pass.

Hey!

I was just going off what I was told. I was told it was all original and there is no hard proof it isnt. Just mechanic says the turbos look too good for 12 years old and 155,000 miles and they said that the gear box usually has a polished metal something or other but the one on mine is black. :confused: what ever that is.

 

My car was a company car for a very long time so the reciepts for the work may have been kept for the accounts for VAT purposes.

 

 

But my car is still great :D :D :D :D :D
