whinning, roughness from drive train

what would be causing this. its like the diff has no oil? is the diff fecked or just needs an oil change. Just converted from auto to manual on the na lwb with a one piece prop. cant believe this is horrible to drive after all the attention and money lavashed on it this past 3 months. The joys of the older cars.

its just horrible to drive as stated with a vibration/ whinning from the drive train. I would presume the prop is balanced correctly as it was never on a car .

As your previous posts were generally upbeat about the drive of the car ( except the noisy bearing) then assume all was ok after the conversion? prop balance will not of changed, so good bet the diff is giving some grief, try lifting the output shafts up and down to check the output bearings, did you have the clutch bearing done?

Hi Jeff. Haven't it sorted yet as was waiting for the bodyshop to do their part and too busy at work. Going on holidays shortly so mechanic is going to pull box out then and sort that. He's changing the exhaust as well so if it needs a diff it's as handy to get it done now too.

going to get a few hours at it today all being well, and do a oil change in the diff. supposedly maxol have a created an oil to cure this!! My mates given me 5 litres of it{ he who owns a very large car parts store} and all he wants is feedback if it works. To be fair we are both doubtfull but it cant hurt to try, especially when its free.
