Hi Paul and others,

The reason I am driecting this email at Paul is because he has what I am trying to do. which it fit my kenwood 6x9"'s into the door.

Apart from cutting the pannel did you need to do anything else ?

hiya bud - the way i done it:

remove door panel (obviously!) & behind is a mounting bracket that the speaker fits in, the outside of the bracket is about the same size as a 6x9 speaker.

I cut the inside of the bracket out with an angle grinder, then rewelded the 2 skins together again to give it strength. mount the speaker.

you will then have to cut the door panel to fit over the speaker, & mount the speaker grille to the door panel.

looking back - it may be easier to do away with the origional mount & make up a MDF mount instead (changing rooms stylee!!:D )

its not too bad to do tho.

Daaaaaaaam,

So it wasn't that easy then !!!.

When you said they fit with a little cosmetics I thought you were just refering to cutting a new hole. I didn't think I would need to get my angle grinder and mig welder out. :( :(.

Looks like I'm going to have to take this in to an ICE shop :(.

Thanks for the info anyway.

LOL. Very Wise words

Do you think I could put them in without the angle grinder and mig welder ?

I think I'm going to have a crack at it tonight.

AndyZ, do you have any door pannels spare before I start :D

Wish me luck.
