This is no joke either.

I had a very official looking letter addressed to my business with exactly the same scam and stamped from Nigeria.

It was offering a very similar transaction by some Nigerian government department through my bank account but for some reason I didn't follow it up and missed out on my $50 million or whatever! Oh well...

There was something on Watchdog about this scam last year and it's still going on.

Must be working if they can afford to keep sending post and e-mail to people all over the world.

LOL! We got this email too at work - A blo0dy accountancy practice!

Not the best chance of accepting a money laudering scam!

It's amazing there isn't something that can be done, from the UK, surely there are international laws regarding this?

I went to Mombasa on Station leave in '89 and stayed at a hotel on the South coast and the waiters get all friendly with you then when you get home you used to get begging letters via Air Mail.

Took Mrs T out there a few years ago and we befriended a few of the guys out there and when we got back we had the sob stories through the post. Account details to put money into etc.

"My Mother was butchered by wild baboons and my Brother needs a kidney operation..." etc.

Obviously things have moved on and Email is the preferred choice of contacting us rich and wealthy Westerners.

Macca had one of these aswell recently.

It wasn't the scam I found funny so much as the guy's replies and the email exchange that went on - it's worth the 15 mins it takes to read through all the mails on that site ...

I have had loads of these in the past, and as recently as last week! Never had them by e-mail, always on the FAX!

Last week I was contacted by Chief someoneorother wanting to transfer $75,000,000 into my bank account from Nigeria. Apparently the previous 'corrupt' government had stashed away this money from overcharging on oil contracts. The Chief gave his 'home' and his mobile number.

Loved the responses from the guy on that thread! Wonder what the look on the 'Doctors' face was like when he was reading them?:D
