few days ago i was transferring some files from my laptop to hard drive and hdd to laptop. it switched off and rebooted itself. i tried it again and it switched off again. now it wont even load up. it comes up at the windows did not shut down properly, it wont go into safe mode nor will it fix the eorrs. it does the error check and when asked to restore to a previous known working configuration upon selecting yes it does it thing and i got a blue error screen first time was page_fault_in_nonpage_area. second time bad_pool_header and third time fatal system error. ive got a shit load of stuff on there and i know i could possibly recover most of the data by pulling the hdd out but is there any chance of booting it so i can make a clone of the hdd or an iso image?

many thanks in advance:huh:

Turn it off, let it cool for a couple of hours and try again, could be yr cooling fans are gunked up and letting the processor run too hot. Ive seen overheating cause these issues before particularly if you havent installed anything recently.

If that doesnt work i think pulling the hdd and putting it in another laptop as a slave may be the only way.

sounds as if you have copied a program across to the hard drive by accident that's needed to boot up the laptop.

Left it over night when I tried to switch it on. Been 2 days now not touched it. But since you mention cooling off when I switched it on it made a funny crackling sound as if something was loose in the fan
