Transporting a Zed

Hi guys,

Im in a bit of a pickle at the moment as my engine and gearbox are out of the car and it needs moving across the country asap. I can put the plenum back on and put it in the bay with the engine mounts bolted to the subframe but will that be rigid enough for transportation or do I need to brace the engine from moving forward and back somehow? Im not going to have time to put the gearbox back on.

if u can not do a van .. use a self hire car transporter truck ..

When I had my car moved originally someone tried to do it with one of those but there was no way it was going to go on, couldn't even get the rear wheels on the ramp.

Because I want to move the spare engine back as well along with the gearbox etc and already have a boot full of interior bits and need to bring back some building tools I need either a van or 4x4 I think.

That's who I used Trev.

Cost me £95 for the day (for 2 drivers and included about 150 miles excess on top of what they allow). It was their Darlington branch I used.

The beavertail came with additional extension ramps which made the gradient very shallow and would allow all but the lowest of cars to get onto the back.

Yeah already had a look at them but it doesn't help me get the rest of my stuff back and reluctant to do 2 trips as its 500miles but I might just have to suck it up
