Heres the job advert;

http://feweek.co.uk/.../2013/09/Kwik-Fit-original-advert.pdf

24 weeks ?? 39 hours a week ?? All you get is your bus fare and a certificate ?? Is this the best there is out there for young lads ?

I wonder how many folks, due to peer pressure, jobsworthy jobcentre staff, or just that desperate in the hope of maybe getting kept on at the end

of 24 weeks, will actually apply for this ?

that's bad cheap labour but if there was a guarantee a job at the end cool, there two ways of looking at it 1 you can see if thay are a p-ss taker with there sick and not turning up too work, and at the end say yes I wood employ him or no poor record and the 2nd is government extended the retirement age as where living longer so the younger generation haven't got a chance too work

At least they are getting bus fare. Up here a lot of people are doing volunteer work just to get experience and not getting anything.. Although Im not sure about kwik fits motives..

yea I can understand it gives these lads experience in the work environment and poss a nvq but not get f--ckall in pay must be soul destroying something like this should have a incentive bonus a bite more money from the doll office and it should come from the lazy buggers that not willing too fined work coz thay get more sitting on there ass than working and stand there slap it our faces that thay earn more on the doll than working so I think money should come from them too pay these lads

This isn't anything new for quick fit, I did something similar with them in 1990.only for 3 weeks but No one was ever taken on!

No wonder the youngsters of today are not interested if thats all that is on offer :thumbdown:

Unless you are missing something and that after 5 months they are fully qualified Kwik Fit fitters :lol: bout right :biggrin:

Seriously though, the government have re introduced apprenticeships, so no excuse for free labor from our youngsters. I was doing a YTS scheme at 17 on £25 per week paid by the government and not many taken on after the scheme ended, hopefully as in the case of my nephew the new apprenticeship schemes have more of a chance of working :thumbup: and companies like KwikFit should not be allowed to advertise for free labour, unless its a made up advert lol

the trouble is graham company's are abusing this free labour as it keeps the wage bill down no tax no o/t for there owm staff so everyone loss apart from the companies and share holders all thay want too see is profit

I thought in this day and age and new employment laws it wouldn't be allowed, but i guess under the guise of training, they can get away with it :thumbdown:

im sure its illegal to force people on it? didnt one of these lazy buggers take it to the european human rights court because they had to work in tesco for 4 months or have their benefits stopped?

it was deemed immoral to stop their benefits if they didnt attend, even though we are the only country in Europe who have these benefits..?

If they got a job at the end of it they would be worse off than if they held the position, therefore it was immoral?

Just to add fire to the debate.. :devil2:

well if its white wash enough thay can get away with it
