Calling all bikers, steering damper settings advice please.

Just picked up my zx10r yesterday left the damper well alone and it seemed to work on the few light nose moments I've had. Parked up at work everyone was looking over the bike and they all twiddled the damper knob out of curiosity. No bloody idea where it is now, what do you reckon?

There is no perfect setting for a damper. Slacken it off till you feel no resistance and then slowly turn it in one revolution at a time until you do feel some resistance and tweak as necessary after you have ridden the bike until you are happy with it. In theory once you have any resistance whatsoever it should be fine

also depends on your style of riding if you do counter steer at high speeds, its there to take the play out aswel on straight line suicide and better control so as (custard) roobarb said get the resistance nipped up. its a trial aint gonna say the other word that goes after it,

Ha no we won't go there. Thanks for the advice I'll stick it two thirds stiff, I've had Tankslap twice in 5 years but that is too many, I wanted an ejector seat, hopefully a steering damper will do instead.
