One for the pc gurus ??...........

Always used MSN and Hotmail on the home computer.

Messenger runs when I start up the pc and tells me how many emails I have, and lets me know when I am

online if any knew ones come in. Seems that Skype is the order of the day now ?

I have Skype, which I use every week to chat with the daughter in China. But it doesnt have any email notification ?

I never use Messenger at all. Apart from the email bit !

So question is, how can I get an email notification for Hotmail without having to sign in every time I turn my pc on ?

Or is there a seperate programme available that lets you link/join Hotmail/Google accounts so that you dont need to sign in

everytime you switch the pc on and lets you know when you are online that a new email has arrived ??

Lastly, why do Microsoft keep farting about wi things ?? If it aint broke, dont fix it ?:asshole:

Thanks in advance troops !:punk:

If you have a gmail account you can add all your other accounts, so it will check and receive all your email from all accounts. There should be a setting for it in the account options.

I have hotmail set up on my iPhone/iPad, u can set up to receive notifications whenever an email comes through (u get a little red number at side of 'mail' app on home screen). Once hotmail is set up u don't need to log in every time to access it either.....I use this all the time and only use PC if I need to send a letter or fancy attachment of some sort.....

Once I sign in, it will stay signed in all day, and the wee Outlook symbol will come up with numbers for any emails you may have on the MSN home page.

But if you turn the pc off and come back later, you gotta go through the signi in procedure everytime. More of a pain than anything else ?

Is there not an option to "Stayed signed in on this computer" ? It's normally just a check box to tick. Don't use MSN so can't really offer any advice mate. Yahoo mail allows you to stay logged in.

Ticking the box only allows you to stay signed in until you switch it off.

Worked great for years with Messenger, now they have done away with Messenger and merged it with Skype, its crap !

Tried 5 different downloads of email notification software, all work fine, but you still got to sign in at every pc start up !

Whick kinda defeats the purpose !

I just use Google Talk now but I've used programs like Digsby before with MSN which let you load in multiple IM & Email accounts.

Just make sure to untick the extra stuff it asks you during installation if you use that one
